If you’re Australian or another fellow Southern Hemispherian, we are currently in the dead of Winter. I thought I would put together my five favourite lip products for the season! This is a mixture of lipsticks and lip care products!
1. LUSH Mint Julips Lip Scrub - 9.95 / 25g
First I chose my staple (which I actually use year-round) as my lip exfoliator - Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub. This lip scrub not only tastes delicious (to me it tastes like Arnott’s Mint Slice!) but it keeps lips silky smooth even in blistering cold weather. I took this baby with me overseas to Europe when it was getting pretty chilly and it really help keep them in tip-top shape!
2. Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia - $5.69 / 16.7g
Next for Winter you need an amazing lip butter. While I am a huge favourite of my Summer lip balms (EOS Strawberry Sorbet and Korres Lip Butter in Pomengranate will be my choices this Spring/Summer!) my favourite cosy lip balm for cooler weather is the Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia. It’s sodelicious and leaves lips silky smooth. I literally keep this next to my toothbrush so I can slather it on right before bed and when I wake up (after brushing teeth obv.)
3. Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle 001 - $21.95 / 2.55g
Next up I chose an everyday lip colour in Pink Truffle by Revlon. This is from the Revlon Lip Butters collection and while I don’t normally reach for brown shades I think this colour is just gorgeous, and a great alternative to the basic nude/pink shade for Winter.
4. L’Oreal Color Riche Lip Liner in Lasting Plum - $9.97 / 1.0g
5. Rimmel London Kate Matte Finish Lipstick in 107 - $12.95 / 4.0g
The next two products are kind of a team - a lip liner and bold lip stick. I chose the L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Liner in Lasting Plum and Rimmel London Kate Matte Finish Lipstick in 107. These two together are my go-to night time shade, I think they look so seductive and vampy and a nice change from the classic red lip.
What are your favourite Winter shades?
Excellent picks for winter! My lips are so dry at moment. I only wish I read this earlier today as I was in the body shop this afternoon. I’m going to keep an eye out for all of these products (and drink more water). Thanks for sharing
No worries The Rimmel London Kate lipsticks can be a touch drying (as they are long lasting lipsticks) but keeping lips nourished underneath with a lip butter normally counteracts any effects on the lips! And yeah nothing beats good ol’ H2O
