I am adamant that I won’t let my empties get out of hand again!! I’ve been using up some great products this month, and also had a little bit of a makeup clean out, so I thought I would give small, mini reviews of them as well!
First up is skincare: As I mentioned in earlier posts, I ran out of both the Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Moisture Booster* (RRP $34.95) and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo* (RRP $27.95) at the same time, which I quickly replaced with alternatives in my recent haul. I also went through a pack of Nivea Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes (RRP $7.49). I like trying all different wipes, so these were replaced by Models Prefer Matte Me Wipes (RRP $6.99).
Only one empty product in skincare, with Batiste Dry Shampoo (RRP $9.99) in Cherry. I love trying all the different scents in the Batiste range, so I just picked up a replacement in the scent Mamba. I love the way this one smelt and was sad to see that it wasn’t available in my local grocery store. Mamba is pretty great too though, perfect for upcoming Spring.
I have had Revlon ColorStay for Normal/Dry Skin (RRP $34.95) in my collection for YEARS so it was definitely time to let this one go. I used this one quite a bit, but soon moved on to other foundations and it would break me out a lot (I soon discovered when I stopped using it - I don’t think I even ever realised it was for dry skin! Doh!). Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation (RRP $32.00) in Shade 53 is one of my favourites, and I will be replacing this very soon! I couldn’t get the rest out of the bottle, which was a little annoying.
The Rimmel London Voluminous Scandaleyes Mascara (RRP $16.95) did not work for me AT ALL, so this is a full product I’m throwing out. In contrast, the Max Factor Clump Defy False Lash Effect Mascara (RRP $24.95) is one of my favourites, and this one has been used up completely. I am currently wearing Eyelash Extensions, so I am not using mascara at all. Let me know if you would like a comprehensive post on eyelash extensions!
Some lip products that were getting gross or just not being used. I expressed my feelings on the NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss (RRP $11.95) in my post NYX Cosmetics: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. I quite liked the NYX Xtreme Lip Cream (RRP $9.95) in Candy Land, but it wasn’t performing the same it used to after a little while. One of my first red lip products was Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick (RRP$26.95) in Brilliant Bordeau and it is time to let this one go! An Urban Decay Lipgloss that I think came free with the Naked 2 Palette? Never liked it, to the bin it goes! And lastly, another NYX lip product that didn’t do it for me, NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Sparkle Nude (RRP $9.95). Be gone!
A couple of liner products - all dried out. Bobbi Brown Longwear Gel Liner (RRP $35.00) was my first gel liner and it dried up soooo quickly! I was so disappointed in this product. It worked great while it was moist. I tried to revive it a couple of times but it just never performed the same way. Time to let go Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen (RRP $24.95) and Essence 2 in 1 Eyeliner (RRP $5.35) both lasted quite some time, and worked well, but I much prefer the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner (RRP $13.95), which is still kicking!
