Mintmas Day 2: October/November Favourites

Hey readers! Welcome to Day 2 of MINTMAS! I actually missed out on October Favourites last month due to work being crazy and some sporadic blogging schedules, so I thought I would mush them together and make a super favourites dual month post. These two months combined has seen some great makeup products, a little skincare, a little hair care and some tools to boot! Enjoy :)

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25Hr Foundation with Comfort Serum Full Coverage in Light Porcelain* is first up, and this has been my favourite foundation over the last two months. Can’t say I’ve tried it for the 25 hour test (does that just seem crazy to anyone?) but this last all damn day here in the humid Southern Hemisphere for Summer, without oxidising or feeling heavy. It applies really easily and doesn’t separate like some full coverage foundations.

My long time favourite eyeliner Maybelline Master Precise Felt Tip Liner (RRP $13.95)  has been getting a work out this month as I’ve been discovering my love of the subtle day time cat-eye. I think I am finally getting the hang of liquid eyeliner. Feels good man.

The Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Flush (RRP $30.00) is my new best friend. I first heard of this product through essiebutton some time ago and I am literally in love. This oil-free liquid blush is designed to not block your pores and gives you a gorgeous wash of colour that blends seamlessly into your skin. A little of this goes a long way, and you can apply it with your fingers or with a blush brush. I’ve tried both ways and I am still working out my favourite way, both have a great result :)  You do have to make sure you don’t apply powder before you use this, or things can get looking pretty odd. Look how gorgeous this looks. LOOK AT IT.

Now, I’ve never been one to curl my eyelashes, and I finally have started doing it religiously. I don’t know if my lashes have fallen in my old age (*sob*) but it’s just never really been something I’ve noticed a difference in. However, since curling my lashes on a whim with the Revlon Eyelash Curler (RRP $15.99) I’m addicted. I do it every single day, and when I don’t… I have a flat lash day. Le sigh! This particular curler is better than others I’ve used, mainly because it has awesome cushy cushions (?) that don’t snag or pinch your lashes.

I was lucky enough to receive the Sigma Beauty Mrs. Bunny Travel Kit* (RRP $99.18) and I have been loving using them! These brushes are so soft and apply makeup so well, I can tell why they have the high price tag! I also love the packaging of this one, and I am especially looking forward to taking this overseas with me next year (along with a few other brush essentials). Included in this kit is: E30 Pencil, E40 Tapered Blending, E55 Eyeshading, E65 Small Angle, F3o Large Powder, F40 Large Angled Contour and F60 Foundation Brush. I am really enjoying the E40 Tapered Blending, F30 Large Powder and F40 Large Angled Contour.

I’ve almost used up the Dr Roebuck’s Polish* (RRP $39.95) and I am dying. I am definitely going to repurchase this one in the new year because I just can’t handle life without it. It a great ‘shower time mask’ to use as you are shaving your legs/checking instagram/what-have-you, and has this great peppermint-y scent, and contains Kaolin Clay to further draw out impurities. You can check out my post on it here for more info :)

Another amazing skin product I’ve been using is the Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser* (RRP $62.00). This moisturiser has SPF50+, which to me is essential living in Australia. It’s lightweight, hydrating without being oily and sits nicely under your makeup for the day. Also, bit of trivia, it won 2014’s Glosscars for Best New Facial Sunscreen (Beauty Heaven).

Something that you need to look into, if you haven’t already have, is the Naked Basics Palette (RRP 29.00 USD). I use this girl every single day, either on it’s own, or in conjuction with other eyeshadow products. It’s perfect for hilighting, contouring and defining. I don’t think I would even need another palette, I could get by day to day with this special little guy.

I also recently picked up Bed Head Tigi After Party (RRP $20.50), despite my hesitance due to the fact that it looks like a giant pink dildo. Despite it’s obviously comically phallic appearance, this smoothing cream has been doing wonders for my flyaway hairs and it keeps my hair controlled after washing (without making it too oily). I absolutely LOVE the scent of this one too, and my partner commented on my hair smelling nice. That’s definitely a good sign.

The Kester Black for Bellabox in Coral Me Maybe (RRP $20.00) might just be the perfect Summer orange nail polish! I’ve been wearing this on my toes for weeks and it looks amazing with a tan!

Last but not least is the Tokyo Milk Dark Lip Balm in Coco Noir (RRP $13.00). This lip balm is crazy good! If you have lots of fruity, fun lip balms, you need this in your life, for balance. It’s like the Edgar Allen Poe of lip balms. It will make you feel like a glorious poet that’s terribly melancholy about something. It also happens to smell like dark chocolate, rum and maraschino cherries. Boom.

What were your favourites for November?

Bahahaaaa, I loled at your description of the Tigi product. Too true though. The Rimmel foundation sounds amazing, 25hrs is a bit ambitious (and ridiculous) though! I really want to try the watercolour blushes, they look gorgeous!

I had it on my desk as well and I got some strange looks that day haha! I know - 25 hours is ridiculous, I don’t think it would be very good for your skin to leave makeup that long anyhow haha.

Maybelline master prescise is one my HG liners!!! It’s just amazing for the perfect wing. I think I have repurchased like 20 times by now! I also have been loving my Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette but I should really purchase the original too. I love how travel-friendly they are :)

It does take time, took me ages to finally get in the swing of things with liner. Well worth it though :D
