Review: Maybelline Dream Pure BB

P1110187

After being teased with the wrong colour samples (I think I received about four of them!) I finally managed to get my paws on the Light shade of Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream with 2% Salicylic Acid.

What Maybelline Says

Our first blemish fighting BB packed with 8 skin benefits! With 2% salicylic acid and SPF 15. For oily-combination skin.

What The Minted Beauty Says

This BB Cream offers a hydrating and lightweight formula with a light-to-medium coverage, with a satiny, slightly dewy finish. It also has a lovely, non-makeup scent. It boasts an ’8-in-1′ formula which includes the following:

  • 2% salicylic acid + vitamins
  • Conceals imperfections
  • Reduces blemishes
  • Calms redness
  • Oil free, non-greasy
  • Minimises pores
  • Adjusts skin tone
  • SPF 15

I have only used this a couple of times, so I can’t speak for the blemish fighting properties. However, it has been comfortable to wear, hasn’t broken me out (w00t) and doesn’t apply greasily like some BB Creams. With the hydrating properties and vitamin infused deliciousness, I can happily say that this product will be being used in my collection for some time, in both Winter and Summer.

This is probably one of my favourite Western BB creams - I really like it! I don’t really think the salicylic acid makes a difference, but I’m not really fussed about it!

I agree, even if it doesn’t, it’s still a great BB cream :)

I have that BB cream, but it’s not the right shade for me at the moment. The salicylic acid isn’t at the right pH to be effective, so it’s really a waste including it. it does give good coverage, better than the Garnier ones I think.

Yeah it seems more like a marketing ploy than anything else. Still one of the nicer BB creams I’ve tried. Definitely more coverage than the Garnier ones, I agree :)

I’ve been hearing a lot about this cream. I think it’s great that it’s an 8-in-1 cream. I’ll have to see if I can find it.

It’s always interesting to see how many ‘features’ they can cram into the product, you always see 8-in-1, 9-in-1 - soon it will be 37 features in one product! :P

I tried the other BB cream from maybelline and I wasn’t too impressed with it. But I really want to give this one a go because it sounds like a really good product!

Was it the regular Dream Pure BB (pinkish tube?) because they might be very similar. I’m always hesitant to try something if I haven’t liked something by them previously. Maybe see if you can get your hands on a sample first? :)
