So like most people that infiltrate the interwebs, I have fallen victim to Lush. I love visiting the brick & mortar stores of Lush. The staff are beautiful, mostly eclectic and genuinely lovely people ,with so much energy that I think they could rival Energizer Bunnies. The scents can be overwhelming in the store at times, but once you are accustomed to the vibe it’s a place I love to go!
However, I tend to be more of a reserved person, and if I am tackled with too much information (in Lush’s case, it’s scents, sounds and sights) I get a bit anxious. As such I tend to research products online and buy them through the online store. This also works well for me because the closest Lush store is about 6 hours drive away. A long way to buy bath products (although worth it IMO).
I thought I would do a summary of my Top 5 Favourite Lush products that I have tried. I, of course, have not tried everything that they have to offer, but happy to say I have tried most of their more popular items and a couple of under-dogs. I haven’t included Lush Bubble Bars and Ballistics in this post because I feel like these are in a league of their own! Let me know in the comments if you would like to see Top 5 Bath Products from Lush as well!
Without further adieu, here are my faves.
1. Rehab - $22.95 / 250g
This is one of the liquid shampoos available and it is probably my favourite one, even surpassing BIG shampoo, which was top of my list for a long time. Although BIG is amazing, the texture of it does get a bit tedious at times as you try and keep as much product in your hair and not falling off into the bath tub (it’s mainly a rock salt texture, so it can be difficult to keep on your noggin’). Rehab is perfect for reviving stressed locks (which applies for my bleached ombered hair!) It also smells fantastic, with olive extracts and jojoba oil!
2. Mint Julips - $9.95 / 25g
I showed this recently in my Top 5 Winter Lip Products. This product smells like Mint Chocolate biscuits, which I happen to love It is made of sugar and essential oils to exfoliate and nourish your lips. I highly recommend any of the lip scrubs that Lush have to offer. I have only tried this flavour (?) lip scrub, and it is almost up for expiry However, I recently ordered Bubblegum to try, so we will see if it can surpass my love for Julips.
3. Big Buffy - $24.95 / 200g
Buffy Body Butter is a great exfoliating and moisturising product, and I use this on a daily basis. I had to get the bigger Buffy bar because I use it so often! This product is great to use before shaving and also on any problematic skin areas that can get congested or angry. The exfoliating sand particles slough away dead skin cells so well! It is well known for slaying cellulite, but I think I will need to exercise that area before I can see any results TBH. I will be using this guy tonight before trying out my new St Tropez self tanner which I got in my Violet Box.
4. Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner - $32.50 / 225g
This body conditioner is so luxurious and I feel a bit like a queen whenever I use it. It basically negates the need for any heavy moisturisation after a shower. I use this about twice a week after shower gel and shaving and only at night time. It allows the goodness to soak in overnight leaving skin amazingly soft. The scent is a beautiful soft rose scent, but this is far from being grandmotherly. I’ve almost used all of mine up and I will definitely be repurchasing it!
5. 9 to 5 - $9.95 / 95g
This cleanser is SUPER gentle and smells divine. I have been using this one after I take off my makeup at night time, when I don’t want a really harsh or astringent cleanser. It really leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth. It’s extremely gentle on the skin, and really soothes my problematic acne areas.
What are your stand out Lush products? Should I do a Top 5 ballistics/bubble bar post in the future?
