Top 5 Skincare Products

With Priceline hosting 40% off today, I thought it was the perfect time to share my Top 5 Skincare picks (most of which you can buy at Priceline today!). I don’t have a crazy routine in place, and while I do like to mix a little higher end products in from time to time, the majority are affordable and can be found at the local drugstore. I thought I would combine my Top 5 Skincare products that I really find myself reaching for over and over again.

I first purchased Bioderma Micellar Cleansing Water (RRP $29.99) back in October 2012 and I haven’t looked back. Well, there was a short time when I was using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (RRP $7.95) - which comes very close, but Bioderma always remains close to my heart. After extended use, I found the Garnier version just wasn’t as effective in removing eye makeup as the Bioderma. I use this daily, but I am currently using up the Garnier version as well.

I am pretty new to the serum scene, and only have really been using one or two for as little as 12 months. The Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Moisture Booster* (RRP $34.99) is by far the best serum I’ve used (of the few I have tried) and it really encourages your moisturiser to be soaked up by your skin. I think I have noticed a different in my overall skin health and hydration. I have just used up this tube and while I wanted to repurchase it, I also wanted to try it’s brightening sister Pepta Bright (also by Indeed Laboratories) so you can expect to see a review up about that one soon!

I have been using the Nivea lip butters since their release last year, but the new flavour in my collection Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose (RRP $5.69) is simply divine. It’s an awesome night time lip cream to really nourish the lips and ensure that they are baby smooth come morning. I have had no problems with flaking or chapped lips since using this product. The light, fruity/floral scent is amazing too!

I reach for Philosophy Hope in a Jar* (RRP $45.00) so often, but it was a tough choice between this one and People for Plants Night Cream*(RRP $29.95). I think this one is more hydrating and feels just so much lighter on the skin - it’s kind of like a whipped little miracle inside the jar :) I have never been much of a ‘moisturiser person’ but this makes it such a treat!

I recently finished up the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo* (RRP $27.95) and I am beginning to feel the pinch without it! You can wear the Effaclar Duo under your makeup to help fight nasties during the day. I have ordered my new tube of this to come from Priceline, although I believe it is the Effaclar Duo +, so I will find out soon enough!

I really need to pick up some of the Effaclar Duo, I have no idea why I haven’t yet, sounds like exactly what I need… The Nivea lip butter sounds like a must-have as well!

Thanks for sharing, Kate. Some great picks here! I really need to get my hands on that Nivea Lip Butter. I’m crazy about my Caramel one and have yet to try this new one!

I had the Vanilla and Macadamia and it was delicious! I was tempted by the caramel, I’ll have to pick up that one once this one is all done (which could be very soon!) hehe. Xoxo

Ahh I’m bumped out that I didn’t pick up the Effaclar Duo, How could I forget?! haha. I’ve only started using the serum and am so far liking it. I have been using the Garnier cleansing water and I agree that it doesn’t remove the eyeshadow as well as the Bioderma.

I really want to try the new Nivea lip butters! I haven’t seen this particular flavor in stores, but it’s the one I want! The light pink colour looks so good :)

There isn’t really any colour pay off with the pink butter but it’s certainly the best smelling/tasting in my opinion! Xo
