The Winter Essentials series will include skin care (for face and body), hair care, makeup, fashion and some of my favourite Winter recipes! I hope you enjoy the series!! When preparing for Winter, the first thing I think of is skin care. I don’t like to venture too far from my regular routine, but I do make some key changes that are very beneficial. Here are some of the products I use in my Winter routine! Something I love doing in Winter time is exfoliating off the terrible scaly skin that I grow (that sounds really gross). Puretopia Glowingly Smooth Body Polish* (RRP $14.95) is great to use in the shower before cleansing your body. I especially love using this before I shave my legs as well, it’s a great way to ward off those pesky ingrown hairs. It’s too abrasive for everyday so I don’t like to use this more often than once or twice a week. Let me know if you are keen to see a full review on this one! As someone who is lazy, I don’t like to moisturize my skin Daily. But I have been with the Vaseline Spray & Go Aloe Vera (RRP $9.99). It’s so easy to spray your body after a shower and just let the moisture soak into your skin. It dries very quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy residue on the skin so it’s great to do in the morning before work! When I do really pamper myself (usually on a Sunday night) I like to apply the ECO Argan Body Oil* (RRP $15.00) all over my skin after a shower. It’s so luxurious to use a body oil, and I feel just a little smidge like some kind of Arabian Princess. (I can feel you judging, IDC). This particular oil not only contains argan oil, but also pomegranate seed oil, vitamin E, grapefruit peel oil and ginger root oil! These oils are great for improving skin elasticity and has anti-aging properties. No matter what your skin type, it is super important to be moisturizing your face every single day. I’ve been using Philosophy Hope in a Jar* (RRP $20.00), which is very light, almost soufflé like, but still very nourishing to the skin. It melts into the skin quickly and creates a softer, brighter complexion almost instantly. If you look closely, you can actually see the hope within the jar… I don’t moisturise my hands often enough as it is, and in Winter it’s especially noticeable! I like to keep my little tube of L’Occotaine En Provence Shea Butter Hand Cream (RRP $42.00) on my desk at work and apply some in my down time. It’s great for using during the day because it is non-greasy and absorbs into your skin so quickly, I can get straight back to work after use. I often switch between Korres Lip Butter in Pomengranate (RRP $18.95) and EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm throughout the year. The Korres Lip Butter is a great berry colour and still lasts a long time and moisturizes so well! You can buy these on Asos as well so if you don’t have a Mecca Maxima near you, you can still grab one. I go on and on about EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm and you are probably sick of it. This balm has lasted me so long, but it’s finally getting to the point where I need to buy a new one! This one is perfect because it has no colour but still has a light-tasting strawberry flavour. It also reminds me of plastic…but I happen to really like that! It takes me back to my childhood with those plastic-y lipsmackers A product that I tried recently is definitely well suited to doing only in the cooler months of the year, and I will be doing a review on it shortly! Milky Foot (RRP $31.99) is a chemical exfoliation for your feet that removes the top most layer of skin, revealing the smoother, softer skin beneath! It’s quite an experience, I tell you! Keep your eyes peeled (ho-ho) for the review coming up next week!
