I am a huge fan of Etsy, and even owned a store at one point (though it wasn’t terribly successful). Finding cute, original and well-made products is important, not only to help out small businesses that are starting up, but to also discourage large manufacturing companies that pump out mass amounts of cheap, poor quality items.
