Macabre Monday #36 - Old Halloween Costumes

I feel like Halloween costumes now can be cool and people put so much effort into looking gory, or exactly like their favourite spooky character. But some of the creepiest and downright scariest costumes I’ve seen are from the early 1900s and before. Here are a couple of my favourites.

    Why am I looking at this at 2am omg I’m gonna have nightmares. Have you read Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children? These photos remind me a lot of that book - the author started collecting old photos, and constructed a story around them. So many spooky photos in it, and it’s really well written too.
