New on the Desk

Just a couple of new things lately that I’ve collected for the last couple of weeks. These ones are only hair & skin, so keep on the look out for some new makeup purchases on the blog soon too!

If you didn’t see on Instagram, I recently dyed my hair blue using Fudge Turquoise Blue. I am really loving the colour, but it’s a bit blue-er than I imagined. Still, it’s grown on me.

A shower gel I picked up from Woolworths Original Source is one I have really been loving. It smells (and…well…kind of feels) like Raspberry Yoghurt. It is super moisturising and is amazing for shaving legs in the shower.

For some time I’ve been using a range of different cleansers and I think my skin is beginning to resent me for it. I need the gentlest formula with good promising results. I’ve heard amazing things about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, so it’s high time I give her a go! It’s pretty creamy but not quite as creamy as my Philosophy 3-in-1 cleanser*.

I recently used my both my Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Moisture Booster and my La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo at the same time. What a nightmare. Luckily I managed to pick up the Indeed Laboratories Pepta Bright and La Roche-Posay  Effaclar Duo Plus. I am looking forward to seeing their differences and if they exceed expectations.

I picked up the Montagne Jeunesse Manuka Honey Face Mask on a whim and I am pretty excited to try it out. However, I’ve read some disappointing reviews, so now I am not sure if I am excited or not. Don’t you hate that? I’ll keep you informed and do a review, and I will try to make it an unbiased opinion despite my preconceptions of the product.

Lastly, I received a sample of Dr Lewinn’s Face Moisturiser in the mail, and I am excited to try it out! I have never tried any of Dr Lewinn’s products, so I am interested to see if they are worth the $$$.

Have you picked up anything new lately?

I found the honey mask a bit disappointing as it had little wet patches that didn’t completely dry. So, most of it would peel off but leave little sticky bits behind that I had to wash off (which kind of defeats the purpose of a peel off mask!)
I do love that shower gel though and it’s nearly always on sale somewhere at half price which is a bonus!

Yeah that’s what I heard too! Also that it didn’t make much of a difference :( haha yes I think I did get that one for half price too :P Great bargain.

Thanks Kariss! It’s definitely different - a lot of children have commented on it hahaha.

That Original Source shower gel is literally my most favourite that I’ve ever tried! Funny story. I live in a share house with a bunch of guys and one day they had all gone out and had come home at the same time and were exclaiming that the house smelled so amazing and they were asking me what I had been baking when really all I had done while they were gone was take a shower, haha!

Bahahaha that is classic! My partner asked why the bathroom smelt like raspberry yoghurt the other day too. I love products that smell like food! :)
