Shop My Stash #1

P1100276

A popular blogger/beauty vlogger activity to pursue is to “Shop Your Stash”, or find older (in date!) products in your makeup collection that you may have forgotten about. I find myself reaching for the SAME products every single day without fail lately, so it’s time to step out of my comfort zone and try to find some treasures! This could also help with downsizing before my big move!

Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua Foundation in BR10

I was so excited when I first purchased this foundation, and fell in love with it quickly. However, because it is one of my more expensive foundations, I tend to ‘save’ it for special occasions. I have since decided that it shouldn’t be punished for being special, so I am going to try and use it a bit more often. I love the finish it gives, and it feels like I am wearing nothing at all. I purchased it off eBay for around $40 + P & H, and I am confident that it is genuine Chanel, seeing as the formula is identical to a tester I got from the Chanel counter.

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

I simply have forgotten how much I love the Revlon Lip Butters! They are silky smooth, moisturising and have a decent colour pay off. Berry Smoothie is a taupe-y purple colour that is super wearable and doesn’t look too overpowering.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Bad to the Bronze

I remember searching for AGES in my drug stores and Big W/Kmart for this to become available, and went off my tree when I finally found it. I didn’t use it much and then quickly became focused on other important matters (like MAC palettes and such!). A quick revisit, and well after this hyped up product, I have noticed it does tend to crease quite a bit on me. I really need to use a primer as well as this as a base. Other than that, I still really love the metallic look of the cream shadow. I like to use this either on it’s own, or with my Naked 2 Palette, specifically Bootycall and Half Baked.

Maybelline Xtreme Volume Falsies

This was my go-to mascara from 2012 right through to mid-2013, and then I discovered my amazing Max Factor Clump Defy False Lash Effect Mascara. I gave this baby a whirl and I am not that impressed to be honest. It went a little clumpy, and I have since found mascaras that are way more satisfying. I’ve also found I much prefer a plastic brush head wand as opposed to a fibre/fuzzy wand. I just think it is easier to coat my lashes with minimal clumpage and it’s a lot easier to separate the lashes.

I will be doing a post on my favourite mascaras very soon - stay tuned!

  1. I have been trying to change up my regular products and shop my stash more too. I came across so many products that I had not even opened..!!

    • Wow they would be great to find! I very rarely leave unopened things in my collection except mascaras, because I don’t want them to go bad. I know I haven’t used a couple of lipsticks yet that I should really at least swatch! Haha! Thanks for commenting Xo :*

  2. Such a cool concept! I should really shop through my collection! Berry Smoothie looks so pretty btw :)

    • It’s amazing what you can find that you’ve forgotten about! I’ve almost used up Berry Smoothie, which proves that I used it alot before I forgot about it haha.
