I thought I would jump on the band wagon here and give my two cents on what my favourites of 2013 were! I thought I would break them up into makeup, skincare and random. It’s a long one, so hold onto your hats!
My favourite primer of the year would have to be the L’Oreal Nude Magique Base Primer. This baby came into my life in Spring and I love using it! It provides me with the perfect base to start my makeup.
My favourite of the year for the infamous BB/CC/DD etc Creams, it would have to be the L’Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream for Anti-Redness. As someone with pesky acne that pops up more often than I care to admit, this cream is a life saver for combating redness!
I’ve swapped out my foundations a lot this year, but my favourite for the longest time has been Revlon Nearly Naked foundation in Ivory 110. It has a high enough coverage for my skin type, and is the perfect dewy finish, without giving too much of a shiny appearance.
Maybelline Age Rewind Eye Brightener in 060 has been the BEST under eye concealer all year! You wouldn’t believe how tired I actually was during the year, all hidden with this trusty guy!
I would have to say my favourite eyeshadow of the year would be MAC’s Woodwinked. It is the perfect, blendable crease colour and has been on my eyelids for probably 4 of every 7 days. Legit.
You’ve probably heard me bang on about this mascara before, but Max Factor Clump Defy False Lash Effect Mascara has been a year long favourite! It’s the perfect formula and wand for making your lashes look amazeballs!
My favourite liquid eyeliner has to be the easy as liquid eyeliner pens. I’ve tried Revlon’s, Max Factor’s and Essence’s liner pens, and they are all excellent. So far, I think Essence is my favourite, with a dual ended pen, with thick and thinner options to choose from!
This is a hard one! I’ve had so many new lipsticks join me this year, and I love all of them. Probably my favourite most wearable shade would be MAC Plumful. The perfect pink/purple hybrid for any ocassion.
Like most people, I have been a huge fan of Rimmel London Apocalips range this year, and I think the pick of the bunch has to be Apocalips. Hot fuschia with lasting power, and a non-drying formula? Hell yes.
Ugh my poor Nars Laguna Bronzer! I am too scared to clean it because I don’t want to waste any precious product! As you can tell, it is a constant favourite bronzer of mine, but I am looking forward to trying out some more affordable drugstore bronzers for you all! If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!
The Sex Blush of course! Physcian’s Formula Happy Glo Natural Blush has been the perfect flush for me this year. It gives you a ‘just done it’ glow
Bourjois Java Rice is the most perfect light, reflective highlighter, and is available at Priceline! It has surpassed MAC’s Lightscapade Mineralised Skin Finish as my favourite!
The best tool would have to be the Real Techniques buffing brush. I use it every single day and love it to pieces. The runner up would be the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion, and it was a tough race! But because I just got it in December, I feel like I shouldn’t poo-poo the clear winner for the majority of months
OPI Honey Ryder Liquid Sand from the Bond Girls Collection has to be the clear winner for me this year. The textured nail polish has been super popular this year, and my favourite of all of them is the original Liquid Sand by OPI.
