REVIEW: Clearasil Vitamins & Extract Daily Wash*

If you have seen me speak about Clearasil before, it’s probably been negative. Back in 2003 (showing my age here) I bought the Clearasil Ice Wash in an attempt to rid my life of pimples and be as fresh faced as Sarah Michelle Gellar. Well, the Ice Wash by Clearasil literally gave me a chemical burn. My skin took months to recover and I cursed Clearasil to the depths of Hades.

More than a decade later, I was approached my Clearasil to give them another chance. Being a Pisces, I am naturally easy to forgive and forget. But fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, SHAME ON ME. If these guys eff up our potential relationship and affair again, I am on the train to a life without Clearasil.

The Clearasil Vitamins Extract Daily Wash* was in my eyes, a safe bet. With avocado and pomegranate in the product, it’s unlikely to burn the bejezus out of my skin. I’ve been using it for over 4 weeks and I have to say, I am quite impressed with this wash.

What Clearasil Says

Clearasil® Vitamins & Extracts Daily Wash is a creamy 2-in-1 cleanser containing avocado, pomegranate extracts and Vitamin E known for their nourishing properties to keep skin looking healthy. It can be used as a gentle daily cleanser or as an indulgent 3 minute mask so skin is left clear & soft.

What The Minted Beauty says

I’ve mainly been using this as a quick, three minute mask to boost my skin’s radiance and help with some of the dryness of my older breakouts. It’s super gentle and you can use it up to three times a week as a mask. I like to do shave my legs or wash my hair while I am waiting for the mask to do it’s work. It’s super gentle and smells amazing.

I also occasionally use this as just a cleansing wash, mainly when I just want to use the product again (dat scent!). It’s not my usual preference of cleanser, as I usually opt for foaming gel cleansers. however, I think the cooler weather has permitted me to make some adjustments to my skin care, and since my Clarisonic Mia2 is on the fritz (!) I have switched out my cleaners anyway.

The website for Clearasil has some great links too, which helps in choosing the best product for your skin type. I found the daily wash would be suited to my skin this way. The Skin Care Guide is the perfect way to choose before you go and spend your dollars on a product you aren’t sure will work for you!

The verdict? Well, even though you hurt me Clearasil, I am willing to put it behind us and move forwards towards a beautiful relationship.

Have you tried Clearasil’s newer formulated products?

I have this wash (I’m actually almost finished it!), and I use it every morning. I really like it for the mornings as it’s nice and creamy, yet refreshing. I think it’s helped maintain my skin’s pretty good condition too :)

I am about halfway through mine as well! Glad you are enjoying it :)

I got to trial this before it was released as part of the Beauty Heaven Trial Team and I quite liked it as a wash but as a mask, I found it really burned my skin, luckily not to the point of chemical burns but to the point where I’d have to wash it off after about 30 secs because it felt to bad. I didn’t have any issues using it as a face wash though and like you said, the smell is divine! I’m not a big Clearasil fan but if I had to pick a product to use from their range, this would be it.

That sucks that it doesn’t work for you as a mask :( Goes to show what can work for someone can not work for others. My skin isn’t overly sensitive normally so when something burns, it’s bad! Thanks for commenting!! :)
