REVIEW: L’Occitane En Provence Dry Skin Hand Cream

After being subscribed to Lust Have It for over a year, and Bellabox for six months or so, I have accumulated a monstrous amount of hand creams to use up. It’s very daunting! But one of my New Year Resolutions is to use up a big heap of my products, and this includes the 20 odd hand creams I have lying around. Of course, with using up and trying products comes more hand cream reviews with you! It’s win-win!

I am not normally one to coo and gush over a hand cream. I normally use them a couple of times and then forget about them. I need to start taking better care of my paws, so there is no better time than the present! I started off with the most famous staple hand cream to treat myself - L’Occotaine Shea Butter Hand Cream.

What L’Occitane En Provence Says

One of our best-selling Shea Butter Hand Creams is sold every three seconds around the world!

Enriched with 20% Shea Butter, this super-creamy balm penetrates quickly to protect, nourish and moisturise hands. Honey, almond extracts and coconut oil are blended with Shea Butter to create this extremely effective formula. The rich texture leaves hands soft and smooth with no oily traces, and can be applied as often as needed.

The small metallic tube looks incredibly chic, with an old stamped-style logo of L’Occitane centered on the packaging. Having a squeeze tube is fairly common in hand creams, and I prefer them to tubs because you can control the amount of product being dispensed (unless of course, you get a little squeeze happy! Once it’s out of the tube, it ain’t going back in!)

I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with this hand cream formula. As promised by L’Occitane, it is a non-greasy cream that is absorbed by the skin quickly. It leaves my hands soft, smooth and not with an overpowering scent.

You can purchase this hand cream for $12 for 30mL or $39 for 150mL. I will say that a little hand cream goes quite a fair way. I have a sample size of 10mL and I’ve barely made a dent in it after about a week’s usage. I have been using it a couple of times a day. For the quality of product you are receiving, it is well worth the price in my eyes.

Additional Thoughts

This hand cream is probably my favourite hand cream I’ve ever tried, and now I am frightened that I have peaked too early in my quest to use up my hand creams! Time will tell if it is comparable to others in my collection.

Have you tried any L’Occitane products? What were your thoughts?

Stay Minty!

I am the same as you collecting hand creams and I made the same decision last month and I love their hand cream

They certainly tend to pile up don’t they! Hopefully we will be able to get through them all!

I’ve got a jar of L’Occitane’s Date Bouquet body cream. It’s taken me foreverrr to get even 1/4 of a way through it. I just love the way it absorbs into my skin and the scent is heavenly. I’m not a huge fan of the original L’Occitane scent, but when I found Date Bouquet, I knew I had to have it. I even have lip gloss in Date Bouquet, which is a little too artificially scented, but still moisturizing.

  • Hi Tea Style

    Love this hand cream!

I’m probably in the Guinness Book of Records for World’s Driest hands and have used everything going. This is by far my favourite - you’ve started with the best! La Roche Posay do a great hand cream too but it feels a bit more medicinal.

I think I did too! It’s all downhill from here…oops :P I will try to get the La-Roche Posay hand cream, I have heard it is very nourishing but not as nice like you’ve said in your comment <3
