As you might have seen in my recent post on Reverse Hair Washing (update to come later this week!) I have been trialling a new shampoo and conditioner from Unico. While I do love my Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde Shampoo & Conditioner still (I use it once a week!) it is purple coloured and I have been finding my hair tends to go a little grey with overuse. The Unico Intensive Shampoo & Conditioner* are specifically for colour treated hair, without the purple tones.
What Unico Says
Unico Intensive Shampoo (RRP $22.00) is a sulphate free shampoo great for chemically treated hair, and also works well with aging hair. Added UV filters help to protect colour-treated hair from fading in the sun. Also great to keep blondes sparkling with shine. Lavender, rosemary and cypress pure essential oils combined with plant derived ingredients produce a mild formula designed to cleanse the hair without stripping colour or natural oils.
Containing Vitamin B5 to help prevent grey hair and hair loss and Vitamin E to help improve scalp circulation, the end result is healthy, sparkling locks!
Unico’s Intensive Conditioner (RRP $22.00) is specially formulated for colour treated hair with out being too heavy, leaving hair revitalised and moisturised after being chemically treated. Containing essential oils lavender, rosemary and cypress which are great for helping hair loss, dandruff, oily hair and coloured hair.
Containing Vitamin B5, this shampoo helps prevent greying hair and hair loss, with vitamin E to help improve scalp circulation. The result is naturally soft, shiny and healthy hair.
What the Minted Beauty Says
Firstly, wow. I love this scent. It’s a gorgeous fresh citrus scent, without being too overpowering and offensive. The packaging reminds me of The Body Shop. Clean, simple and sturdy. There is nothing I despise more than a shampoo bottle being knocked over in the shower, ugh!
I’ve found that my hair is much less frizzy than normal, which is normally a problem for the little hairs right on top of my scalp. My hair feels light, soft and super easy to manage. I’ve tested this product both the regular way and using the reverse hair washing technique. While I do prefer the reverse style, it still works really well the regular way too.
With the conditioner, I do find that I need to add a daily treatment, otherwise it just isn’t nourishing enough! Great for not weighing down hair, but not-so-great for these bleached locks!
Unico products are sulphate free (always great) and are also not tested on animals (phew!). The essentials oils included in the ingredients are not overpowering like some products. Essential oils are great for the hair but when you end up smelling like a hippy crystal store you can wonder when it all went wrong I think the citrus tones in these products help mask the other scents, but you still get the great nourishing properties!
Have you tried any products by Unico? What were your thoughts?
