Mintmas Day 12: Easy, Cool Hair Styles

As a new convert to the ‘lob’ I’ve been having a lot of fun trying out some new hair styles. These are by no means invented by me. This is just the easiest ways I’ve found to recreate some of my favourite trends from celebs, runway and street styles I’ve seen. Hope you enjoy!

These three styles are my go-tos, and take less than 5 minutes to achieve. I am not one to fuss over my hair (especially in this heat) so I try to limit hair-fussing-time to a minimum. Before I get to styling, I use Tigi Bed Head After Party (RRP $20.50) (a pea sized amount) and apply to the ends of my hair. For days when I don’t wash my hair, I also use Batiste Dry Shampoo (RRP $9.99)

The Deconstructed, Textured Bob

I think everyone wants to achieve that perfect Alexa Chung Signature Hair Do. I haven’t got it perfected, but I am close I think! After buying Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray (RRP $31.00) I am closer than ever. It’s a great texturising spray. Simply part your hair in the middle, spray and scrunch. Easy!

The Smoothie

I love this one as an alternative to a ponytail. Smooth back hair and secure with bobby pins at the nape of your neck. Spray some hairspray on your hands and smooth onto your hair (this stops your hair looking flat and lifeless). I love Cedel Extra Firm Hair Spray in Raspberry (RRP $3.50) for a fruity burst of fragrance.

The Top Knot

I am loving the top knot recently, which is a great throwback to my Year 2 days. It’s as simple as throwing the top half of your hair into a pony, and leaving the lower half to do it’s own thing. Lady Jayne Sport Elastics* (RRP $6.99) are my choice of elastic, as they don’t snag your hair and have super cute colours (I love the gold sparkle for the Xmas Season!). I sometimes like to pull out little strands of hair to help frame your face as well, or you can keep it smooth. Whatever your preference.
