Green with Envy

Kermit said it first. It’s not easy being green. ButJust a few things that caught my eye in my apartment and I thought they would look lovely together. These products are some great favourites and I think Miss Piggy, Queen of Style, would agree that sometimes, green is preferable!

One of my favourites colours (which you can probably guess seeing as my Blog Name is inspired by it) is green. I love deep dark forest green, grassy greens, light greens and of course, mint greens. I find this colour so calming and very relaxing.

The first green item that caught my eye in my collection is the Maybelline New York Volume Express Mega Plush Waterproof Mascara. This mascara, like most of the Volum Xpress mascaras by Maybelline, is a great investment. It makes my lashes super fanned out, it doesn’t smudge on me at all! I have been using this on my bottom lashes lately, because my top lash choice can smudge on the lower lashes. I also think that the fanned effect of this mascara works better on my lower lash line. I don’t want long bottom lashes, just lovely thick, fanned out lashes :)

I received this gem in a Lust Have It Box a couple of months ago, and it’s been featuring in my makeup for a lot of winter! It is called Forest Green by GOSH, and it’s the perfect winter colour for eyes. I think it can look really grungy/awesome teamed with red lips. Just my taste :P It’s a beautiful khaki colour with slight shimmer in it.

I am VERY new to looking after my nails I am sad to say. I’ve always admired others nails and decided it’s high time to start looking after my own. I came across this cuticle remover which I had never used before and I find it really works a treat for softening and removing the cuticle. I have very small nail beds so I need as much help as I can get! This has a lovely fresh aloe scent as well, which is nice.

I recently started using the Macadamia Luxurious Oil Treatment and I am chuffed! It’s a lovely scent (not quite as potent as Morrocan Oil) and it doesn’t weigh down my fine hair! I have bleached ombered ends, so I definitely needed nourishment, and this is a great product! Defs a fave!

I recently got this John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow Out Spray for Fine Hair. I freaken love this spray. It helps create so much volume in my hair with not a lot of product. I am looking forward to trying out the shampoo & conditoner set that I also got in this sample set, but I am saving them for travel because they are sample sized obv.

Speaking of Kermit the Frog, this is his namesake of O.P.I. Nail Laquer “Fresh Frog of Bel Air”. This is the very first O.P.I. nailpolish that I purchased, and it is still a favourite in my collection. It’s one of the better glitter polishes that I own because it is quite easy to remove - like you would want to! It has smaller green glitter particles with larger silver glitter amongst it.

One of my most recent nail polish purchases is Mojito Madness by Essie. I am a huge fan of mojitos, and a huge fan of Essie. A collaboration that could not go wrong. It’s a beautiful bright mint green and I really am a fan of this. It’s a beautiful opaque colour and it could be my favourite green nailpolish of all time (don’t tell the OPI :( …)

D’finer D’liner by benefit is a nude lip pencil that I use with a lot of my lipsticks everyday! It really stops lipsticks from bleeding, and the best part is you can use it with ANY lipstick. I am talking colour, consistency, whatever! It has a slightly waxy consistency which makes it a dream to apply (no dragging across lips).

I thought I would also pop the extra props that I used to jazz up the look of the first picture in. I purchased both the books at a St Vincent De Paul Thrift Store and the wooden painted egg I got in a set of four from The Wishing Tree a couple of years ago. Has anyone read The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton? It’s one of my all time favourites :)

I hope you enjoyed this seemingly random post. Find some unexpected beauty in your day!

Stay Minty Xx

Kate
