Hair Essentials

I love trying out new hair products, whether it’s shampoo & conditioner, styling tools, styling products or hair accessories! Here are some new products that have come across my desk that I am loving right now! These are essentials in my gym bag to make sure that my newly chopped hair stays neat and out of the way (and looking/smelling great I might add!)

Nothing is more useful at the gym than hairspray and dry shampoo. I recently picked up the Cedel Extra Firm Hairspray (RRP $3.50) that is scented with raspberry. It’s a gorgeous scent, and works great for smoothing down flyaway hair. My grandmother always used the Cedel Traditional Firm Hairspray, so it has always been a trusted brand of mine :)

Long time favourite Batiste Dry Shampoo (RRP $9.99) is available in the sassy new scent Mambo, which I am loving quite a lot! It’s a little less floral, and a little more musky, which is a great change!

The Lady Jayne Paddle Brush* (RRP $16.99) is great for creating a smooth, neat hairstyle for those days. The ball tipped bristles don’t scrape the scalp and these brush types are the best for blow drying and smoothing the hair.

After the success of the Tangle Teezer, the Lady Jayne Tangleze Hair Brush* (RRP $12.95) in pink is a much more affordable version, with the same, great results. You can choose the use the Tangleze on wet or dry hair, and it works amazing on both. With my chemically processed, fine hair, it can be hard to find a brush that won’t tear or break my hair easily. This one has been working a treat!

These Lady Jayne Sport Elastics* (RRP $6.99) come in great colours and don’t snag the hair at all! I love the glittery gold ones especially! I really love the Lady Jayne Hair Bracelets* (RRP $6.99) with the gold bow, it’s super sweet and easily jazzes up an otherwise boring hairstyle (great for mornings after the gym, I hate getting my hair ready after working out!). Similarly, the Lady Jayne Pony Snap* (RRP $7.99) is a faux white leather that fits over the base of your pony tail. Super cute and easy to work!

Probably the most impressive thing in Lady Jayne’s new Sports Luxe Collection is the Double Bar Pins* (RRP $7.99), which I have never used before! They work like a hair grip without tearing or pulling your hair, and are much sturdier than a regular bobby pin. Ingenious! Because my hair is quite short, I like pinning it up in a low up-style for an easy, sophisticated look.

I used to use batiste dry hair shampoo too, but it’s too pricey in canada, I started using Dove dry shampoo and it’s works really well! I also am using john freida elixir oil and dove dry oil conditioner, both are necessities!

I haven’t seen Dove Dry Shampoo here, but I love Dove products (especially their deodorants). John Frieda makes excellent hair products as well. :) Thanks for reading! Xo

Those are such cute hair accessories! I like jazzing up my ponytails. I’m a fan of Batiste for Brunettes, but I have the cherry in the travel sized version. Recently I was in Australia and used my mum’s detangling brush she got from Glamaco, I wish I got one, it was kind of tangle teaser-esque

I love detangling brushes, I wish I had one when I was a kid! My hair was always so knotty! I am planning on going back to Brunette soon so I will be checking out the Batiste for Brunettes - I’ve heard it doesn’t have that white cast to it which will be awesome for dark hair! :) Xo

YAAASSS Batiste dry shampoo is my absolute favourite hair product. I currently have three different cans on the go, all in different flavours! I love the cute packaging too - it’s a favourite in my bathroom for sure. I also use it on clients if I need to add a little texture to limp hair for styling!

    • Kate Flint

Love all the different can patterns too, so cute! My hair is super limp and dead-looking at the moment, this is a daily must!
